Approved Closing Materials

The following is a chart of suture materials for internal or external ligation, fixation, and closure of surgical or traumatic wounds. All materials are sterile.

Other materials can be used upon request. Similar brands that may be commonly used are Maxon (similar to PDS), Polysorb (similar to Vicryl).

Surgical Adhesives and Sealants

All surgical adhesives, sealants and glues currently manufactured and approved for use by the FDA are approved for use.
